Sometimes God has to take it all from you to show you who you really are without it. - I’ve spent so much time placing my identity in my career, my relationship, or the gym. I was extremely confident I knew who I was. When I lost all of them, I panicked. I look strong and confident from a social media perspective, but inside I was depressed and questioning my self worth. I felt like I had to uphold this image of being strong 100% of the time and always knowing what was going to happen, but truthfully, I just take it one day at a time like everyone else. - When everything gets taken from you, I truly believe it’s God’s way of getting your attention and stopping you from heading the opposite way of your calling. GOD BREAKS CHAINS, NOT PROMISES. And He promises He will restore what was lost and make it even better than you can imagine. But the “in-between” is the damn hardest. Trust me, I’m there. - This goes for your job, your failed attempts at the fitness test, your failed attempts to get your medic license, your lost relationship, your injuries. You are NOT those things and those things don’t make you who YOU are. You are worth SO MUCH more and I’m having to believe it and repeat it every day to just move forward. 🐦 The sparrow tattooed on my forearm is a reminder of this; “You are Worth more than many Sparrows” [Matthew 10:31] . In case you haven’t seen my top 10 tips for the NREMT test on YouTube, here are 5 (captions wouldn’t fit)👇🏽 I get so many messages daily about this test so thought I’d share what’s helped me. (Yes) I did pass both EMT and medic NREMT on my first try but that’s because I knew how to effectively prepare for it & I want to share that with YOU. - 🚑 Don’t Wait to Long to Test: I taught EMT classes at the college and it’s such a significant # of you that wait too long to test after the class. This only puts more time between you and the content. Take time to study DURING your course & a little bit after but I personally wouldn’t give it more than 2 months. 🚑 Weed Out Unnecessary Info: they’ll add so much info to throw you off. Assess the situation, identify the problem, & then treat it. Who cares that they ate 3 hotdogs yesterday? 🚑 ABCs: can’t stress this enough. What’s gonna kill the patient FIRST? Sometimes they’ll throw in some really gruesome injury that sounds & probably looks bad but if your patient isn’t breathing, you’ve chosen the wrong answer. 🚑 Make Flash Cards: cliché but trust me, I had stacks on stacks 💵 I’d take a tiny chunk with me for the day and only study those until I could get through that whole stack without error. I’d bring them to the gym, store, etc. 🚑 There’s always one answer that’s MORE CORRECT: it’s possible to have 2 correct answers & this is one of the biggest complaints with this test 😂 It helps me to imagine myself in the situation & think what I would do first for someone in real life - To see more, subscribe & checkout my YouTube channel Presleykpfit . . . . . #firefighter #firefighterworkouts #firefighting #bomberos #firefighterfitness #firefighterworkout #fitfirefighter #femalefirefighter #thinredline #ambulance #paramedic #medic #womeninuniform #mediclife #stationlife #nremt #firedepartment #feuerwehr #nremttest #firstresponder #functionalfitness #emt

My face when someone mentions how I’m “provocative” in professional attire 🤣 - This post is for all the ladies out there making a difference, doing their jobs day in & day out. - Have you ever been asked why you wear makeup in uniform? Or why you brush your hair and care how it looks? Or why you tighten your pants “too tight.” Or been told that you are too “manly,” “too skinny,” “too small,” or “you’re provocative” because of your curves or way you look that you can’t help? - If you’re a female in this field, especially an attractive or curvy girl, you’re GOING TO be ridiculed. You’re going to be mocked, made fun of, talked about poorly, judged by looks. - Here’s the thing; when you genuinely love yourself and others and what you’re doing while radiating the love of Jesus & walking in your calling, the enemy WILL try to knock you down. Did you know the enemy only attacks things of value? He sees you walking in God’s calling for your life, helping and inspiring others, and he will do EVERYTHING in his power to prevent you, stop you, discourage you, and talk you out of things meant for you. He does this through words, judgmental unbelievers, temptation; the devil has a bag of tricks up his sleeve. Don’t give in. Don’t be discouraged. Don’t throw in the towel. Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can. So be a light to others. Keep shining. Keep doing you. Keep staying in your lane, inspiring, and making a difference. . . . . . #firefighter #firefighterworkouts #sweaty #ems #firefighterfitness #firefighterworkout #fitfirefighter #femalefirefighter #thinredline #fitfemalefirefighter #paramedic #fitforduty #womeninuniform #functionaltraining #medic #firstresponder #firedepartment #onduty #fitnessmotivation #mediclife #functionalfitness
